Feeding Rabbits Herbs, Plants And Flowers

A rabbit's diet can be supplemented with herbs, plants and flowers to eat but it is important to know which are safe to feed and which are poisonous to rabbits.

Although grass or hay will provide the rabbit with a good basic diet, rabbits should also be fed a handful of fruit and vegetables or herbs, plants and flowers each day.

It is important to be absolutely sure in the identification of any herb, plant or flower before feeding to a rabbit to be sure that it is safe. If there is any doubt "leave it out".

If too much herbs, plants and flowers are fed or the rabbit dislikes them and leaves any in the cage uneaten they should be removed and replaced the next day to avoid uneaten plants and flowers rotting and becoming mouldy.
